Northland Surgery: Update

The Health and Social Care Board (HSCB) appointed a new contractor (Drs Wray and Johnston) to take over the provision of General Medical Services at Northland Surgery in Dungannon with effect from 1 April 2019.  The new surgery is named Mid Ulster Healthcare.

Mid Ulster Healthcare relocated to the site of South Tyrone Hospital in Dungannon on 1 April, following the closure of Northlands Surgery, as the GPs were unable to secure agreement with the outgoing GPs in relation to a lease for the Northland Surgery premises.  Mid Ulster Healthcare is now providing increased sessions and are opened 5 days a week for registered patients.

The new contracted GPs have expressed a desire to remain on the South Tyrone Hospital site and discussions are ongoing with the Southern Health and Social Care Trust to secure long term suitable accommodation as well as appropriate car parking for the practice and its patients.

The HSCB acknowledges the difficulties associated with any change and we would ask for the continued co-operation of the patients during this interim period.
