Information about family support services and registered childcare provision in NI is now available for parents and families on the Family Support NI website.
www.familysupportni.gov.uk is unique in Northern Ireland as it is the only online directory of Family Support Services.
There are two directories on the website which features family support services and all registered childcare providers across the region including; nurseries, childminders, playgroups and crèches and related financial support.
Details about statutory, voluntary and community support services are also available on the website such as Family Support Hubs, Child Contact Centres, Mental Health and Disability services, Domestic and Sexual Abuse, Drug and Alcohol Misuse and information for carers.
Services on the website can be viewed on Google maps which enables search results to be narrowed by postcode area and details on the Childcare Directory can also be narrowed by vacancies, experience of special needs, school pick-up/drop off, flexible working hours and accepts childcare vouchers.
Dr Una Lernihan, Early Years Lead with the Health and Social Care Board said:
“Sometimes finding the right information can be a challenge for many parents and carers. The family support website is an amazing, easily searchable resource for families with children. It enables easier access to support for families providing up-to-date information about available services within their local area such as day nurseries, school age childcare and childminders as well as information on the massive range of different family support services across the statutory, voluntary and community sector for babies through to teenagers. Help is just one click away.”
